This online documentation describes key technical details of the Kinvolved platform and is intended to help school districts understand what is required to implement the system.

Synchronizing data from a school district to the Kinvolved platform ensures that the information in it is always up-to-date and useful. We often colloquially refer to the process of getting data into Kinvolved as "data ingestion".

This documentation will review the various types of data the system will expect as well as best-practices for how to provide it. It will also describe the Kinvolved OneRoster+ format which is based on the standard from IMS Global and provides the basis for the data ingestion process.

The focus here is on data but future iterations may include topics like Single-Sign-On.
